@rolle ahhh damn, iPhone users have so many beautiful options at their disposal. Meanwhile Android users have a lot of the functionality, but not a lot of beautiful design for Mastodon. PWA with #BirdUI is the best available option - but frankly, I'm nor a huge fan of PWAs and their performance (at least on my phone). 😭

@raccoon @rolle @Vivaldi After a while of use, #BirdUI feels quite nice. For a few reasons (e.g. features like markup & quote boost & threads, antennas) I'm drawn to FireFish and have been using it alongside Mastodon. The look & feel of #FireFish doesn't feel as nice though. Thinking of whether there could be ways to get the best of both worlds.

@rolle @raccoon Thanks, hopefully @Vivaldi will join the list of sites using #BirdUI. Feature request at the forum linked so #vivaldi users can add support.

Just added the "Mastodon Bird UI" theme to bsd.cafe instance! 🎉 This interface resembles the popular social media that has been recently rebranded and is incredibly user-friendly. 🐦💻 Especially on mobile devices and in PWA mode, it's beautiful, lightweight, and well-structured. 😍 Not everyone has access to it yet, as it has to be manually enabled by me for each locale, so you might not find it among the themes.

@charlesroper @rolle @tchambers We have #BirdUI on Mindly.Social as an option for users to choose. The only thing I don't like about it is how the advanced web view puts the compose column over on the right instead of the left lol

Twitter folks, there is a way to make Mastodon feel like home more UI wise: #MastodonBirdUI, an interface that resembles the Twitter UI.

Many instances support Mastodon Bird UI (like mstdn.social under the theme "Elephant" in your settings) and you can also use it via browser extension.

Here's a feature that is not so obvious in #MastodonBirdUI ('Elephant' theme on mstdn.social): Swipe-enabled bottom bar on mobile.

I really like the links to be on bottom of the screen on mobile to save the screen estate, but there is just no way for them to fit horizontally. However, you can touch-scroll through them. If you use gestures like me it might need a stable hand, but there is no alternative yet.
