I wonder whether he consciously returned to those black kids in Central Park or if he is so intrinsically racist that seeing #Obama becoming the leader of the free world caused the same knee jerk for him. Who goes on the birth certificate is (and IMO should be) a reflection of social agreements around who has agreed to take on legal and financial responsibility for raising a child.

For a lot of LGBTQ+ families, the lack of protections for non-biological parents has been devastating. Until 2009, when civil partners started to legally go on the birth certificate, non-birthing parents could, and regularly did, lose access to their children in break-ups.

The Scottish GRC would be accessible to them, as for anyone else living in Scotland, but presumably the GRC would have to be accepted by the General Register Office (for England and Wales) for their birth certificate to be corrected
