A male northern cardinal perched on a branch. I felt this was too "plain" of a shot so I experimented with the vintage presets in Lightroom.

During the summer you can visit the sunflower field located at the Dorothea Dix Park located in Raleigh, North Carolina. You can find a wide arrange of sunflowers and the various birds that enjoy the sunflowers that include the American Goldfinch, Indigo Bunting and this female Blue Grosbeak posing for a portrait photo on top of the sunflower

By far one of the hardest birds for me to get good shots of due to how quick these buggers move are the kinglets.
This is my best picture of the ruby crowned kinglet showing its crown.

A portrait style shot of the American White Ibis taken in Orlando, Florida.
I first discovered the american white ibis when I started traveling to Florida for work. I was exploring the nearby Winter Park area where I would see them at the nearby parks and bodies of water. I also encountered these birds when I went to Naples and Marco Island.

I believe never did a formal introduction of myself, so here it is:
I am Ezequiel, an argentinian biologist working on #paleobotany of Cretaceous (and recently Cenozoic) South American plants, focused mostly on anatomically preserved remains. I am also teacher at the University (in Paleontology and Paleobotany courses), and I often do scicomm activities.
In my free time (sort of) I like to do #birwatching and #sketch birds and other dinosaurs.
And here's a monk parakeet :-)
