I was taking my son to school this morning in #BishopsStortford, about a hundred yards away from the school gates there was a small, distressed crowd of people on the pavement.

It looked like a man had collapsed, and three or four mums were tending to them, whilst children watched agast.

A couple people were on their phones, presumably calling for an ambulance. One mum was instructing others to take the kids into school to get them away from the situation.

I'm having a bit of difficulty finding the specific locations of the burst water mains in #BishopsStortford.

We're in Thorley and there's no water here.

I've heard there's no water up near the big Tesco. And there's another burst water main near Takeley.

So here in leafy #BishopsStortford there was a power cut at the school yesterday and all the kids were sent home at 10am.

Today there have been a number of burst water mains in Bishop's Stortford (and the general area) so the school is closed again.

The washing up is piling up, we're all stinking, supermarkets are running short of bottled water.

It seems like a very on brand end to the year.
