Sam Selvon's The Lonely Londoners (1956/2021) is a time capsule about the plight & responses of #BlackCaribbean immigrants navigating their way round prejudice & #racism in 1950's London. Written in an accessible but evocative #creole this exploration of the #westindian immigrant experience is both entertaining & shocking. It offers an immersive appreciation of what London looked like to a growing ethnic minority.
