Microsoft and a North Carolina county overruled archaeologists to remove a historic Black cemetery in the way of a Microsoft data center.
' “We are among the only developed countries in the world that considers archaeological sites on private property to be private property ... rather than cultural heritage,” said [Black archaeologist] Fred McGhee, Ph.D ... “Black historic places are some of the first to get maligned,” he said. '
