As a child, I attended segregated schools. I can recall one Black male teacher in my elementary school (and I didn't have any of his classes.)

In my segregated high school, there were several Black male teachers, covering civics, history, art and music.

The situation is improving, but we need to recruit and retain more Black male teachers!
