One important lesson for : people will not stop risky behavior. Shaming them for it is not stopping them. This presentation by Kyle Tobener at offers an alternative approach by applying the principles of harm reduction.

It made me think how I can apply this in my work to become a better security consultant.

Auf der bekam Google den "Lamest Vendor Award", weil sie Schwachstellen geschossen haben (sic!). Begründung: Sie hätten damit " Anti-Terror-Aktionen" westlicher(!) Geheimdienste torpediert.

Dabei wäre die Lösung gang einfach: Geheimdienste melden den Herstellern die Schwachstellen, die nicht behoben werden sollen. Oder besser: die Hersteller melden die Schwachstellen den Geheimdiensten und bitten um Erlaubnis, sie schließen zu dürfen.
