Named after Wade Hampton former governor and a horrific leader of the confederacy who helped legislate #Blackcodes to reverse Emancipation and Reconstruction .
They stole an election by ballot stuffing, intimidated new Black voters at precincts, instituted poll taxes, poll tests, lynchings and generally terrorized Black citizens.
