Dr. Sophia Bethena Jones, M.D. (1857 – 1932) was the first black woman to graduate from the Medical School. She went on to found the nursing program at College.

There’s something beautiful when you’re a minoritized person reading academic papers simply because you’re interested in the topic - when you don’t have to read papers because an attending or supervisor is going to berate you, not because you’re minoritized and must be over-prepared at all times because of peoples biases, etc.

Learning for the love of learning. I say this while reading psychiatry papers.💖
