I am seeing many #Africans sign up for Threads as well. I believe #Meta will do what I had hoped #Misskey & #Mastodon would do: bring #BlackTwitter & #BlackInstagram to the #Fediverse.
It will be interesting seeing the #BlackThreads community interact with #BlackMastodon once Threads activates #ActivityPub support.

I can see #BlackTwitter & #BlackInstagram embracing Threads by #Instagram. Functionality is still basic (no text search support & no hashtags support), but I believe they will add more functionality in the future.
