Title is "Three Theories of Black Women's #History

The purpose of this zine is to serve as a primer for the study of the history of Black women in the United States.

The three theories are
helpful for anyone interested in the study of #BlackStudies, #BlackHistory, and #BlackWomensHistory in particular. There's also a recommended reading list at the end. Link it in next post.

I live in Washington so very used to a legal environment. It’s a cash cow! And it’s fun and can be very upscale or toned down or whatever.
That’s why it should be awarded to black Americans as part of a reparations package in my opinion. Of course after being federally legalized. 😎😬

Racism and sexism are a double edged sword. I haven't had a single interview in three months until I feminized my name and omitted my last name. While having a gendered name often works against women for higher wage jobs, its preferred for lower wage jobs. My last name is racialized often by employers, omitting it has increased interest which should shock everyone to the core. Black Americans know that our historical troubles in the United States extend far beyond Emancipation and into the present. White supremacy is having empathy for the insurrectionist white woman killed by police for trying to overthrow the government but having scorn for the innocent Black man beat to death by police as he called for his mom while just trying to get home.

@alfredo_liberal It has to be treated for what it truly is. Any death at the hands of police is a violation of constitutional rights as the constitution affords everyone a fair trial before the state can act against them. Police killings usurp the power of the judiciary and trample constitutional freedoms.

We shouldn’t accept them as a standard part of policing.

What are the chances that I keep getting hired on teams where the team is primarily white and male? Very high. Tokenism is an age old problem. When we leave, get fired, disappear, its not their fault. They keep hiring us but we just end up leaving despite how hard they tried to hire us. A white man at my last last job said a bunch of creepy stuff, interrogated me and ended with how much I had in common with his work BFF. It had a creepy vibe.
