The thing I really love about Souvlaki in #Blacksburg is that it hasn't changed in the 20 years since I graduated. Same menu, same posters on the wall, same somewhat surly proprietor. Pretty sure the prices haven't gone up more than a few cents. It is a place frozen in time in the best way. #VirginiaTech

Today I learned that the fastest way to derail a #Blacksburg Town Council work session is to have a man walk by with a monkey. The planning staff seemed unfazed and reported that the monkey is a regular visitor.

I’m told a pony recently stopped by the building as well.

Today, I joined several of my council colleagues for Local Government Day in Richmond. We had good conversations with Delegate Jason Ballard and Senator John Edwards about housing and land use, transportation, and local control of zoning decisions, among other matters. While this is a shorter General Assembly session, it is still an important one with a wide range of issues under consideration that could affect the Town of Blacksburg.
