It's time to set up independent community reading rooms. I can't be there on the ground, but I would be willing to buy books. Also: now if a kid has a phone they can use kindle app to read.

“…I believe, that if we understood ourselves better, we would damage ourselves less. But the barrier between oneself and one’s knowledge of oneself is high indeed.
There are so many things one would rather not know! We become social creatures because we cannot live any other way. But in order to become social, there are a great many other things that we must not become, and we are frightened, all of us, of these forces within us that perpetually menace our precarious security”.
— James Baldwin, “The Creative Process”, 1962

Paul: " To call a Black philosopher elitist is racism."
Now for starters I criticize the statement, the position, the assertion, not the person.
This is basic couresy. It is basic coalition etiquette.
I expressed deep respect for the Professor.
So, yet again, you are putting words in my mouth. Just stop it.
I did not "call him an elitist" I point out that the injection of a reference to #EdmundHusserl in this context, without spelling out what he means, and the relevance, is a failure to communicate in plain English in a manner that will be accessible to a broad base of readers.
It is a minor point. It is not fucking "racist" to make that point.
To contend that #blackscholars are above criticism by any person who is not themself black seems rather patronizing.
Let that sink in bro.
