I watched in admiration as BlueSky mods purposely gave boatloads of invites to #BlackTech people who invited more #BlackTech people on purpose . It was all very intentional and I liked that. I don't see it as a White space at all but maybe I don't know what your exact definition of that is. Are you saying that academics or tech people you know actually querried profiles and were able to determine

@Cyrus @Thapsyrensays And Twitter was using me for my eyeballs and Facebook was using me for my data. And Google gave me free Gmail for my data. The difference is, I did not personally witness hoards of ppl from #BlackTech actually having conversations with and being listened to by the people building out Twitter, Facebook and Gmail when they had fewer than 100 employees at the beginning. If there is a blogger or Youtube a count you follow that explains to non-tech ppl actionable steps they cab take to improve Mastodon for Black ppl post the links so that I may get the knowledge. Cause right now I seriously do not know what those steps would be.

@jpwhiteside I absolutely do not claim to be a tech expert. But here is what I can tell you. #BlackTech on #BlackSky (yes, that's a thing) is ACTIVELY engaging in these very questions. The accounts that are on management at BlueSky are actively courting experts from #BlackTech to help develop BlueSky. Don't take my word for it. Get an invite code, ask these very questions and SEE 4 yourself what replies you get. If you don't like them - quit.
