Asquith Xavier (1920-1980)

Born in Dominica 🇩🇲 and moved to the UK after WW2. He was denied a job as a train guard at a station due to the colour bar. The Race Relations Act of 1965 did not apply to the workplace. With community support, he got the job. In 1968 the Race Relations Act was extended to housing, employment, and public services.
