a classic tale of market consolidation;
started in 2004 by ex #Amazon employees, it was bought by Amazon in 2011 & retained as a separate unit (to give the unknowing the appearance of a 'competitor' to Amazon's domination of the retail #book market)... and now its being closed, as cost-cutting trumps the need to pretend there is a more competitive market than there is.
While its now owned by #privateequity I always use #Blackwells for new books
