Yes. Others observe passages in JRRT that they claim mirror passages in Blackwood. Which is to take nothing away from JRRT. Shoulders of giants, and all that.

I'd also contend #Blackwood wrote the basis for the #Necronomicon the year before Lovecraft published it.

Working on an anthology, nearing completion, my mind is there now.

A spinning top, custom turned for a collector in the UK a couple of years ago. This one is African blackwood, thuya root burl with a tagua nut (vegetable ivory) finial. There is something so relaxing and satisfying about spinning a beautiful, nicely weighted spinning top.
