Finally got to play a one-session of #BladesInTheDark today.

Unfortunately most of the group weren't a fan of it so it is unlikely we'll ever play a campaign of it.

It did solve a question I had about this style of the game though. I wasn't sure I would like a game where, I as the GM, very rarely roll dice. Turns out I felt totally fine about it.

I also need to get much better at improvisation and try to come with more interesting things for the players to deal with.

Excited after spending last night setting up characters and crew for a #bladesinthedark #ttrpg with (in part) @GM_Jordan, and run by @highgainsad.

Is starting the adventure in a tavern a tired fantasy trope? Joke's on you; The Red Right Hand's lair is IN (*coff*under) a tavern, so ALL our job's start in a tavern, and it's GREAT, so THERE.

(#Myguy is a Cutter, which should be simple punch-stuff muscle, and which I've of course ruined with complex community obligations.)

I would love to know what accent is Ross doing, with this new character. I can't recognize accents well in English...

@nukehavoc Thanks! I've so many #FitD games waiting 4 play, they'd make a multiverse. I want to house rule #Scum And Villainy and Gambits into #BladesInTheDark . #SavageWorlds is the only thing I haven't seen in your lisf, but have to one shot one day.

My latest experiences are: #Runequest, #Questworlds (Really Heroquest in #Glorantha), #Gumshoe: Swords of the Serpentine is great and #BelongingOutsideBelonging one shot of This Night on the Rooftops that was electrifying with family.

Day 25: UNPLAYED

On top of my shortlist of games to play in the next year has to be #BladesintheDark. Its one of those games I heard about tangentially in #ttrpg spaces for years.

Then I purchased and read the rulebook. The setting, characters, and gameplay ooze with flavor. Doskvol is grimy and awesome. There are so many cool choices for crews and types of characters.

For #RPGaDay2023 its unplayed. For 2024 I hope to be relaying cool stories of what happened in the game.

23. Coolest looking RPG.

I really like the Blades in the Dark book. It's look, texture, etc., capture the vibe of the game perfectly for me. Or at least what I expect the vibe of the game to be. The game's presentation almost as much as the game itself makes me want to play it.

We wrapped our first score in #BladesInTheDark with 1 PC trauma'ed out and the other 3 getting away with the chest they were asked to steal!

During downtime we had 1 over indulgence, lots of training, and some reduction of heat.

Next score for Nathair will be hitting a Red Sash drug den as they want to eliminate those dastardly pompous Sashes!

One of my players asked for some time out from our #AgeOfSigmar campaign due to personal reasons. So the rest of the group and I decided that we'll give #BladesInTheDark a try until the other player can play with us again.

I am reading through it right now and so far I am digging it. I love how it even has rules for incarceration and depending on how the dice rolls it could actually *benefit* the crew! 😆
