It’s a clever take on #timeTravel, and the characters satisfyingly behave like time travel nerds. They use time travel tactically, and focus on learning the rules of how it works in their universe so they can exploit those rules.

In 'Upgrade' gaat hij in op het thema genetische manipulatie, met klimaatverandering en autoritaire regimes op de achtergrond. Het is één van zijn minder sterke werken, minder inventief dan bv. 'Dark Matter' of 'Recursion'. Maar nog steeds een leuk boek, zoals ik ook wel eens graag een blockbuster-film bekijk.
