These plants were so pretty that I just had to take a photo. A mess of Oregon native blanketflowers (Gaillardia aristata) and a couple of nice flower stalks of an agastache cultivar (A. rupestris, I think).

MINWR is administered by the #DOI on behalf of #NASA, which does not use most of the island, and so the rest is given over to be a #WildlifeRefuge.

#BlanketFlowers (Gaillardia pulchella) like to grow along roadsides. Always make sure your car is between the flower, you, and the highway, not only for safety reasons, but to cut down on the wind gusts made by passing cars. Due to state/county seeding efforts to curb erosion this could also be Gaillardia aristata.
