After my personal laptop running #Windows11 (I don't like #Windows but need it for school) died this morning, I dug out an old one with hardware that only supports #Windows10. It's almost set up the way I like it now, but it does feel kinda weird running 10 again. Even my work #PC is running a #Linux #distro, so it's been actual years since I've used this #OS. Reminds me of when I was in Community College when this #OperatingSystem was #BleedingEdge #technology to us new #tech #students.

@Stormgren I can only imagine. 400G sounds wonderful, if it works... My home router/wifi has one 2.5GHz Ethernet port and it is so buggy it drops my connectivity at least once per day until I shut that connection down and bring it back up manually... What good is the 10GB port on my computer when finding anything that supports it is rare, buggy, and crazy expensive? #bleedingedge

Sometimes I think I am the only person on the planet that immediately patches whenever a patch comes out - regardless of OS, platform, security patch or not, critical application or not - and I don't test things first.

In the 90s I learned through trial and error that patch testing didn't help much, there were always problems with deploying patches, so since one had to get good at recovering from a "bad patch" it made more sense to simply take all of those testing efforts and focus them on fixing any patch problems after the fact. This had the plus of getting software fixes in place quicker, including security fixes.

It does mean you have to do backups, know how to recover down systems using backups, and in general have a good "break glass" recovery plan. Please tell me I am not the only one.
