Thanks for the answers, I have seen some AUR packages that are not updated at all versus the flatpaks. I have been using Linux since the 90s so can roll any way but also as an academic looking to get my students into using Linux my use is not just from a personal view. Cheers. I have heard of #blendOS but not yet used it

Please follow the examples of OpenSuse Aeon and Vanilla OS. You should have as few preinstalled apps as you can. I can add extra stuff through layers or flatpak, but removing system packages from immutable systems is weird.

#Silverblue has gedit installed by default, and I can't remove it without removing Nautilus of all things. In #blendOS it's Neovim I can't get rid of. It's wack, yo.

#Flatpak in whatever tho. That stuff just slides right out.
