I thought it couldn't get any worse, but the Instagram website, specifically the direct messaging chats list, has gone even further down the accessibility toilet. As of now, my screen reader cannot see chats that I know exist. Particularly frustrating as fellow students and student groups use Instagram direct messaging religiously.

I need to read #German #Braille, and have configured #JAWS with two braille profiles: English and German. However, JAWS does not render the capital letter indicator (dots 4-6) when in the German profile, even though the “Suppress Capital Signs” checkbox within the “Profile details” dialog for the German profile is not checked. Using TestFlight to test features.
It’s quite accessible actually.
Would like to see keyboard shortcuts coming but along with mona app which is not available for testing as yet, things are starting to look up on the desktop front.

I am once again asking photographers to use ALT captions and good image descriptions.

was not good about this on the bird site and I’m still getting the hang of it, but what I’ve gathered is the important thing is to describe not just the details of the photo, but also the mood/message it sends/feeling it evokes - the “why” of the photo. Please share any examples of photographers that are especially good at their descriptions.

I finally figured out how to add image descriptions for my artwork for the visually impaired, here on Mastodon! I knew how to do it from a technical standpoint, but so much of my work relies on color - but thankfully not all of it!

If I focus on tactile descriptions, using terms like "warm color" and "cool color", I won't need to rely on color names.

Any thoughts?
