I finished a thing!

Bandai 1/1000 scale Rebel Blockade Runner, aka the Tantive IV, the very first ship seen on screen in Star Wars history

Snap together kit, no glue used, tiny bit of filler on one or two seams, hand painted with a mixture of sprays, acrylics, washes and pastels. Depending on how big your screen is this might appear larger than life.

I'm handpainting all the markings because while this is Bandai and generally awesome, it's also aimed at entry level or casual builders, and the markings are provided as self adhesive stickers rather than waterslide decals, which I don't trust long term, especially over curves.
I've also discovered an awesome continuity detail on the underside - the bays for the escape pods like the one that R2D2 and C3PO get to Tattooine in, with some of them are missing.

I was all like "yeah a snap together blockade runner, it will be easy, paint it white, job done", then I made the mistake of looking at the studio model for reference and it's many different coloured panels lol

Full credit to the original ILM kitbashers though, because this kind of detail is baked in worldbuilding that doesn't require exposition.
