To my new followers: if I say something you vehemently disagree with or something annoying or something that makes you sigh very slightly...
.... BLOCK ME ....
You don't owe me your time or energy, you don't me your engagement or the sheer brain power of trying to work out if I'm for real or not.*
*Your interaction is a privilege, not a right or duty.*
BLOCK and move on.
*I reserve the same position for myself.
As I always say: just block.
Life is wayyyy too short to expend your energy on negativity. Block.
I don't know why we tolerate rudeness online that we wouldn't IRL but it's strange and unhealthy.
If some random person starting provoking you IRL, you would just walk off, ignore them forever. Online, we do the equivalent of standing next to them, continuing to listen to their spume.

Just blocked someone for being a wanker.

Just blocked another whole heated argument I DID NOT ASK FOR.
I'm feeling pretty serene!

Blocking more people today just for being rude.
Nope, you don't get to argue with me. Not unless you pay me.
My going rate is £250ph
OR IS IT?

Maybe if I were immortal, I would more readily entertain fuckwits.
But no, not in this life I have. TOO DAMN SHORT
Plus, going back to #BourgeoisEconomics and #OpportunityCost - the time you spend on cockholes is time you have taken away from spending with lovely people.

Eh, I'm actually a grumpy old git BUT I do try and bear with people, see if they're arguing in good faith. Patience mostly pays off.
But even if they are being genuine, some people just annoy me. And if they came and sat randomly next to me in a cafe and started yammering on, I would leave. I wouldn't let them spoil my day or derail another conversation.
*My time is limited and precious.*
I believe we should value our time online.
