Fuck off #Blocksite. Obnoxious piece of software.

I use #blocksite a LOT. If a site has any disinfo or uses clickbait or generates profit for entities that are destructive to us, I just block them so they never show up in searches. I don't pretend this stops them, but everything that goes in my eyes and ears has an effect, so I curate that shit. I don't need to see it to be informed, and consuming it results in a net negative.

I reactivated my twitter moments ago, but it's not what you think! I wanted to let people know where to find me on here if they went looking.

After reactivating and made it clear I wasn't using the site any longer, I then blocked twitter using an extension called BlockSite. The extension also allowed me to set a redirect to mastodon if I ever click a twitter link or muscle memory ever lets the URL sneak by. NIce. #mastodontips #blocksite #twittermigration
