Johnette Napolitano’s resonant voice drove the band, aided by former Roxy Music drummer Paul Thompson. Moody offerings like “The Sky is a Poisonous Garden” and “Darkening of the Light” vie with the more pop-inflected “Caroline” and “Joey” (a ubiquitous hit of the pre-grunge era).

When my son asks me (following up on #WeirdAl's hit, "One More Minute") "what was a #rolodex?" I try to explain, but it hits me... there is no way I can do this without sounding like my father telling me about the #milkman or about working for 1/2 cent per pin resetting bowling pins by hand, as if I am explaining how to use an #astrolabe or explaining the alleged merits of leech-driven #bloodletting. (side note, I wonder how many one-use hashtags I got in this post).

A little anecdote from my research:

So in the first half of the 19th century in Italy, before the birth of the #clinic, many medical practitioners were ill-educated and would occasianlly literally exsanguinate their patients during #bloodletting.

This malpractice led to a rumor that persisted over decades. Namely that in #Italy a #vampiric #coven operated under the guise of doctors, to deliberatly exsanguinate the sick and feed upon the misfortuned populace.
