I watched"The Witcher: Blood Origin" on Netflix yesterday. It's a "limited series", apparently from last year, of four episodes telling the tale of how the first Witcher came to be.

I won't spoil it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It *is* violent and at points gory. But if you enjoy "The Witcher" universe, I highly recommend it.

Joku varmasti tulee kertomaan miksi olen väärässä, mutta mielestäni #Netflix in #Witcher on ollut ihan hyvä ja kohta kolmas kausi katsottu. Katsoin jopa #BloodOrigin in ihan mielelläni ja mielestäni siinä oli hyviäkin piirteitä. #NightmareOfTheWolf oli mielestäni heikoin noista.

#Noituri #kirjat on luettu ja kaikki #pelit pelattu, 1,2,3 ja #Thronebreaker. Ainoastaan erillistä #Gwent tiä en ole pelannut, koska pelkät moninpelit ei kiinnosta.

Scheitere gerade am dritten Anlauf, #TheWitcher #BloodOrigin zu schauen. Allein, es funktioniert nicht. Sapkowski hat eine dunkle, mittelalterliche Welt mit dem kulturellen Hintergrund einer osteuropäischen, slawischen Gesellschaft beschrieben. Davon ist nicht viel (nichts) übrig geblieben. Stattdessen, wie schon bei Vikings, ein Abklatsch, gedisneyfied, auf Teufel komm raus politisch korrigiert, alle Ecken & Kanten sind fort. Schade um die exzellente Vorlage (und ab in den Mistkübel damit).

I have a problem with the review the Guardian puts out. For the same film they'll publish two reviews, one glowing and the other damning.

You could say this is for balance. But really it's for social media clicks. It's cynical.

Plus, they hype stuff only to drop it later with out explanation of what changed their mind (see Rings of Power).

How long before this one is retracted?

Didn't hate it. An enjoyable fantasy romp that could be watched as a stand-alone miniseries if necessary.
Don't understand the hate it's had (apart from the usual suspects).

I had a good time with #thewitcher #bloodorigin . Don't really understand all the negativity. A straight forward story, but memorable characters and great fights. Certainly seen far worse the last 12 months. Felt like a heist film...

Despite the opening promise to the contrary, I'm afraid it does look like #Witcher #BloodOrigin is indeed a tale told a thousand times before.

I just watched #thewitcher #bloodorigin @Netflix and all I can say is, whichever producer or show runner approved the dead tired line of “This ends NOW!” in the final episode should be run out of town, or cut off from any more cases of the self-celebratory champagne that dulled their judgement.

While it isn't the atrocious abomination that lots of reviews would have you believe I would say the story is childish and the whole thing feels like a bunch of pre-teens running a D&D campaign back in '82. At least everyone is doing their best though and I would say it's watchable.
