I've really disappeared down a few editor-related rabbit holes today...

Uncovered a few annoyances with #SublimeText 4 so tried some others.

#Kate: awful UI
#Bluefish: awful UI
#Brackets: too basic, buggy UI
#NetBeans: way too complex & slow (duh, #Java)
#Textmate: no way to have a terminal pane

I've now managed to customise Sublime to mitigate most of its issues, and I'm settling in.

However, there is a PhpStorm .dmg sitting on my desktop which will get clicked if Sublime doesn't behave.

There are 4 types of text editors on Linux to edit confuration files, text files, and office documents that are used by average users to programmers daily.

Which text editor do you do prefer?

1 - CLI "Command Line Interface" text editors like #vim #nano and #emacs

2 - GUI "Graphical User Interfaces" text editors with like #gedit #geany #bluefish #kate and #featurepad

3 - IDE "Integrated Development Environment" like #pycharm and #eclipse

4 - Document editor like #libreoffice #writer
