Oh, that's been in my head since I was about six. Both of my parents would occasionally break out in the chorus and talking about a housing development somewhere. The regional rumor is the inspiration for the song was a particular housing development in the hills in southern San Francisco (North slope of San Bruno Mountain, I reckon) that is visible as you drive the 280.
