Well, #BlueLights is a bit of a show, eh?

Being an international superstar & all that, I reckon it's a winner! Bit clunky in writing & performance, but can be forgiven for 1st series & looks set to mature - apparently 2nd series already approved, so all good.

But scary stories, hey! Unafraid of the big stuff - ex-Provo drug gang, MI5 up to their necks in the murder of a cop, all sorts of office politics, personal twists & tense action on the street!
Yet manages to avoid clichés - I like it 🙂

📺 Finished watching Blue Lights earlier, a BBC police/crime drama centered around Northern Ireland and the PSNI.

This was a top drawer drama that kept me engrossed from start to finish. It provides an insight into the very uniquely challenging environment within the country insofar as policing goes, rooted in the country's history.

This is a cop show unlike very many others. Worth watching!

Blue Lights is a cracking BBC police drama set in Northern Ireland. Really well written, with a likeable cast, a healthy dose of tension and some nice twists and turns.

I hope this is the start of many more series!

For those of you looking for some smart #TV to #bingewatch...

#BlueLights (on BBC IPlayer) is just great - very smart, character driven drama, that for those of you old enough will remind you of the best years of The Bill (although this is set in #NorthernIreland, with the special considerations that involves).... really good & cannot understand why I'm not hearing more about it...

I liked several actors, but that's it.

This was a show written by formula. A badly constructed formula. Terrible.

I get more suspense in the moment I flick the spaghetti at the wall wondering if it will stick than I did in the entire series.

I second Rebecca Nicholson's glowing review of the new Irish police drama Blue Lights, which is set in Belfast, and centres on new recruits with varying degrees of life experience. It is well-written, tense in parts, and socially accurate without being cynical.
