I hope #California, #NewYork and other #BlueStates explicitly ban business with any company that benefits directly or indirectly from #childlabor in #redstates like #Iowa. So if companies want to sell products in #bluestates, they need to make sure their supply chains are not using unethical and frankly life threatening child labor from #redstates.

The more we federally allow rights to be parsed between #redstates and #bluestates sadly the easier it is for the urban part of our country to forget we have not yet all arrived, that not everyone is free and safe. I don’t wish the loss of rights on anyone, least of all those in blue states, but I do feel that struggling together we are stronger. Left to the mercy of republican dominated state governments right now, the lives, health, safety of #Women #queer people and people of color is all at risk. Here in #idaho we were reassured “the arc of history is long but it bends toward justice”, that #racism and anti-queer policy would get better—but it doesn’t when left to itself. It has only grown worse. For those who have less privilege and can’t leave hard places, I do fear a future where blue states forget us again and we don’t all work to fix this problem of #extremism together, all the states in the union, all at once.
