Our first game of Circadians: First Light was extremely challenging but at least we were equally bad at it! Reminded me of Twilight Imperium, in that you're just not going to get a lot of points unless you're planning well in advance, and one frustrating move from your competitor will make you tear your hair. But it's well designed, interesting, and worth more practice!

Cryptid is a lovely game where you take the role of a cryptozoologist searching for a mythical creature. There is only one hexagon where the creature can live and you only know your own clue, not the clue of the other players. Via logical deduction you need to be the first to find the creature, highly recommended!! #boardgamesofmastodon #boardgames

Enjoyed the first game of the new #Dune #boardgame very much, very fluid gameplay, intuitive and relatively fast. Already we see a strong potential of replaying thanks to the #deckbuilding mechanics and the general complexity added by the random "intrigue" events. #boardgamesofmastodon #boardgames

Anyone who collects #boardgames will understand this for the next four hours all but one* #boardgame has been put away on a shelf.
The problem of living with a #boardgamer is that this will be short lived . (They are actually picking up three new games today)

*the one not shelved is the everdell big box since they did not lie when calling it a BIG box, it comes up to my knee when stood on its side

It's really difficult to get across just how massive the Colossal edition of Castles of Mad King Ludwig is. My 54" x 54" table can just barely handle 2 players. Last picture shows a single colossal sized tile vs. the racks that hold the standard sized tiles.

Also totally worth it. It continues to be one of my favorites even though my partner has never failed to absolutely crush me.

As I enter my ~10th year of this hobby, I've finally reached the point where I want to play my collection more than I want to try/buy the latest & greatest, which means less convention going and less stalking the hotness on #boardgamegeek ...And yet I'm still finding spectacular games coming out what seems like every day, and my shelves overflow despite my best efforts to buy less and sell more. I guess there are worse problems to have than a thriving hobby 🙂

Leaping from the pages of #2000AD, to say I’ve had massive fun playing this for the past 40 years would be an understatement so I’m looking forward to discovering this new revised & expanded edition.
