Had a good evening of gaming last night. We finished up our second game of #Seafall. So far it is really close. M won this game, so I'm the only one who hasn't won yet, but I am actually in the lead by 1 point overall. A and M are tied right behind me. We have a new box of goodies to open up next week. Then we had a decent session of Satellite Reign. A weird escort mission (bring the guy in instead of out) was tough. #boardgaming #videogaming

Tonight ww played trails which I bought because of the artwork. I like the game, Adam just thinks it's OK. You have to move along the trail, collecting resources to buy badges beforethe sun goes down. Extra points can be made by taking pictures and collecting birds. I won, of course. Its also nice it is so small and quick to set up.

I'll never get off this pulpit: #boardgaming is primarily a social experience. Reviewers I admire are articulate about what does and doesn't work, but that will tell you NOTHING about how it plays with your group. There is no good game with a bad group. It's a chimera unless everybody you know is totally into it and plays fair within the understanding of the game's theatre.

I stand by it, as FredoOnTV would say.

I like quirky game sub-systems and rich settings and gaming in them. I'm also keen on #gm-advice and post about things that happened at my table. I'm also a fan of #TunnelsAndTrolls even though I don't play it often these days. Old school but not "OSR". All is subject to change.

We were delighted to find this new game shop in Leith Walk with big tables for playing and an excellent selection for sale and play. Ancient Robot just opened a few months ago and has been absolutely full of people playing each of the three times we've been by. #boardgames #boardgaming #ttrpg #edinburgh

@adrienne So C, M and I played one game of Anachrony on BGA and it fell flat. I enjoyed it but placing one worker and waiting hours to play again is just too slow. We try to play at a faster pace, but you know, life happens. We need a deeper game where you can analyze different moves and do a bunch of things on your turn. I wish Road to the Rhine was available. Maybe an 18xx game? We're trying Crusaders: Thy Will Be Done now. #boardgaming @boardgames

If you like games that are easy to learn (literally takes 10 seconds) but are real brain burners, this is up there with the best. And it's endlessly replayable.

The artwork also looks very similar to Azul.
