Yui's need to buy a guitar is a story arc that plays out over several episodes. Bocchi does it at the end of the last episode in S1. Yui's desire for that guitar is palpable in her scene. In Bocchi, we just see her staring at that guitar. It doesn't convey any real emotion in that scene--or any scene, for that matter, in Bocchi.

The background art in Bocchi is good. But overall, K-on! is much better.

Yui's intention is to buy a cheaper guitar, but she can't stop looking at that gibson. Mugi saves the day and "negotiates" the price down (her family happens to own the store) and Yui gets her dream guitar.

An example that really points out the difference between #Kon and #Bocchi_the_Rock is the scene where both lead characters go to a store to buy a guitar.

In K-on!, Yui works to save up money to buy a guitar that she just absolutely fell in love with--a Gibson Les Paul. All the girls help her by picking up part time jobs, too. They give her the money, but Yui doesn't feel right about it and returns their money and says she will just buy a cheaper guitar.

I finished watching #Bocchi_the_Rock. It's okay. K-on! was better. In fact, I'd say it was the much, much superior #anime. All the credit goes to director Naoka Yamada and script writer Rieko Yoshida.

Bocchi has none of the humanity and sweetness that K-on! has. It's such a one note anime. I don't much care about any of the characters or their relationships. Whereas with K-on!, I care about all the girls, their relationships with each other, and even their family members. (...continued)

It's alright. I still think the characters in K-On! have more chemistry, though. Also, I can't help but think how much that pink track suit that Bocchi wears all the time must stink. #anime
