Okada Air Boeing 747-100 at Manchester Airport in the early '90s. Not sure whether Okada ever actually operated this aircraft, or even took delivery. It seemed to be parked there for a long time. I knew this picture (or at least a similar one), but it still makes me giggle. 😄
It has to be said though, that at the time, the German chancellor also had an #Airbus #A340 at her disposal, which still would have been a little bit smaller than "Ed Force One" (Iron Maiden's #boeing747) but not a lot. However, I guess this plane would have been considered overkill for flying the 650 km (400 mi) from #Berlin to #Zurich. 😉

When the time came to take #NASA’s Space #Shuttle #Discovery to the Smithsonian near Washington, the Shuttle Carrier #Aircraft was employed, as it usually was when the #SpaceShuttle needed to move.
This required the #Orbiter to be moved inside a truss-work structured called the Mate-Demate #Device, lifted up by cranes, and the #Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Airfcraft moved underneath for the Shuttle to be secured for transport.
An aerodynamic tail cone makes the #SCA easier to control.
The #MDD is next to the Shuttle Landing Facility.

There are currently multiple #Boeing747 cargo planes of Kalitta Air at #Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport in Poland, only 140 km from #Lviv.
#Kalitta is known for providing cargo service to the US Air Mobility Command, and Rzeszów has been used as a hub for arms supplies to #Ukraine in the past.
Let's hope today's deliveries will further help the Ukrainian Resistance continue repelling #russia's infamous attacks! 🇺🇦

On the subject of the #Boeing747, the #JumboJet is the logistics backbone for all of #F1's air freight. About 6 to 7 B747 freighters are required for every fly-away (non-European) Grand Prix.
