(1/2) Today we watched the Dirk Bogarde, Wendy Craig and James Fox classic The Servant. Scripted by Pinter and based on Robin Maugham’s novel, it has classic Pinter scarcity of dialogue, and everything being said precisely and exactly by what’s not said. If you’ve ever thought having a manservant look after you would be a dream come true, this isn’t the film for you. Or maybe it is to dissuade you forever?
