it's annoying that even with #virtualbox installed, LHC@Home still can't see it, and it errors out on calculations that require a VM. what do you want from me? a crowbar and a hatred of Combines? i'm just a dumb sergal artist over here, i dunno how any of this magic box stuff works

c'est du au paquet #boinc manager installé via flatpak qui est paramétré pour fermer le client à chaque fois que tu le fermes, et qui n'installe pas le daemon dans le init.d / systemd.
Donc paramétrage du lancement de boincmanager au démarrage de la machine et juste un paramétrage d'option dans le menu option en cochant exécuter le client qui le laisse le calcul partagé continuer même si tu fermes le manager

Bizarre...
Je suis adepte du calcul partagé et laissé #boinc et #worldcommunitygrid utilisé mon cpu et GPU la nuit et cela depuis 15 ans (autant que ma fainéantise du shutdown serve...)
Mais j'ai l'impression (non c'est un fait) qu'il n'y a plus de calcul si boinc manager n'est pas ouvert sur le pc (nx pc monté il y a 6 mois avec un linux mint derrière) alors qu'avant cela s'exécutait en tâche de fond...

You know the 80:20 rule, right? In #BOINC it's more like 99:1 The top 1% of crunchers has crunched much more than the other 99%. With good equipment you can get into the top 10% in maybe a week. But then it gets quickly much harder to climb in the rankings. BOINC is not as distributed as it was planned. Another interesting tidbit.

Another small milestone in #BOINC. I am now within the top 10 000 boincers in the world based on my score.

TIL that the #acupuncture clinic I noticed yesterday is a co-op. Shall check 'em out for my neurological balance issues tomorrow. Can't hurt. ⚮⚮⚮#Disability dropped! Socked a bit away, paid bills, adulting sucks balls. ⚮⚮⚮Added a couple of #BOINC projects (and so should you). ⚮⚮⚮

Maybe instead of wasting money on AI to put tits on celebrities or popes in puffer jackets, and using GPUs to make stoopid bubble currencies and NFT crap, they could be used for medical use rather than subjecting innocent animals to abuse #animalrights #boinc #gridcomputing

So far the best equipment for crunching E@H is an old RX470, mining edition, with no output ports and better power efficiency. I'm also running an RTX2060 in my second PC. Together they are pushing 400k-500k points per day. #BOINC

I'm back to crunching #BOINC for a few days, this time a run for Einstein@Home.
