My general insect field guide (Insects of Britain and Western Europe from M. Chinery) says that "some Northern [Bumblebee, Bombus] species produce very few workers - even none in the Arctic".
But I can't find a reference for a workerless Bombus species outside of social parasites. Does anybody know of them ? That would be super interesting.

Schwer, auch weil die GröĂe fehlt. Mir scheint noch vor dem Kopf eine feine, helle Querbinde rĂŒber zu gehen? Auch schwer zu sehen.
Zumindest meine ich die Körbchenhaare am hinteren Beinpaar zu erkennen, was schonmal die Steinhummel-Schmarotzerhummel ausschlieĂt.
Ich weià nicht, wie die App das macht, denn das Unterscheidungsmerkmal Stein- zu Grashummel sind rote Körbchenhaare bei der Grashummel. Die kann ich aber nicht erkennen. Ich sage Steinhummel. #Bombus lapidarius.
