We finally got around to doing sparklers in the garden last night - #BonfireNight itself is all about trying to protect the dog from the constant stream of firework bangs, which freak her out.
I love photographing sparklers - pop the camera on a slower shutter speed and you can get some amazing effects!

The bonfire was being finished off for tonight's Rye Bonfire celebrations by a dedicated team this morning. This year's boat is "Emma Duck", a Fairey sailing boat (full details of its history are in the programme).

Every year the poor dog gets #ptsd tonight a car backfired and he wanted to go straight back home..
Letting fireworks off it essentially burning money in a recession. The same people who do it then moan about not enough government handouts.. (comment based on actual knowledge of this not speculation)

The best way to experience #BonfireNight is to head out for a ride with your #bike gang.
We headed out through Everton, confusing and delighting the locals, to the madness of Everton Brow with its views across the city which attract lots of local fireworks too.
Then down to Kirkdale, who really know how to do bonfire night. The Latimer Street community put on an amazing display.

The circles we stood in, figures of eight scribbled into the night.
Faces lit from below, fleshy crevices made cavernous.
