Sydney University Press asked me for an endorsement of The Letters of Charles Harpur and his Circle, edited by Paul Eggert and Chris Vening. I called it "a masterclass in new documentary editing". I'm secretly hoping the term catches on.

It's funny. I have been trying #AI #writing tools like #ChatGPT and #SudoWrite to hone my book blurb. As I try and write hints for the #AI, I'm ending up making my blurb better with my own words--not the #AIs. Refining the AI-generated text is really just a forcing function FOR ME to write a better book blurb. Occasionally the AI adds an element I can use, but mostly the AI writes souless, mechanical prose.

The way I learned:
Background context - 2-4 sentences
Plot Set-up - 2-3 sentences
Conflict/Main plot point - 1-2 sentences
Stakes - 1-2 sentences

Break it into four parts, work out each part, then fit it into the sentence structure. Then fit it together.
