The seventh candle is We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves, by Karen Joy Fowler. It's hard to know what to say about this book, because I advise approaching it as fresh as possible. The story is told in a certain way ("start in the middle," the narrator's father tells her) for a reason. A story about a family coping with a rupture that won't heal.

It's a middle-grade in which a large, queer, multi-cultural family find their usual holiday plans upended, mostly by a horrendous winter storm, but get through it with laughter, creativity, and open minds and hearts. The last window of this event had to be a book by Keigo Higashino again! (He is the reason why I started learning Japanese in the first place.)

探偵ガリレオ (tantei galileo) and 予知夢 (yochimu) are the first two books of the Galileo series. They are not translated into English, but they are important to understand the relation between Kusanagi and Yukawa, which in turn gives more meaning to The Devotion of Suspect X.
