Ok, I stayed up too late to try out #raindrop.io, a proprietary #bookmarking thing.

Gotta say it's pretty slick.

I failed at spinning up a #wallabag docker setup, I'll get back to it later.

The recent update to the #Raindrop.io #Bookmark App took out features I liked, are there any FREE #bookmarking #apps services and sites I should look into?

What #bookmarking #selfhosted solutions are people using? My bookmark bars are stupid and out of control and basically worthless, but I have lots of things I might want to see again.

I really struggle with organization of my thoughts, digital or otherwise

@feditips I can't count the times I switched back and forth between Mastodon, Tusky and the web app. Since #bookmarking has been added I try to stay with Mastodon.

@fabian I use a self hosted wallabag, and also the old school native bookmarking built into FF because its so fast and immediately available in the bookmarks bar. I use an extenions called Floccus which then syncs the native bookmarks to my nextcloid bookmarks for backup and sync across browsers and devices.

was reading someone's post about using #orgmode for #bookmarking web pages. I've seen this idea before. I think i've seen Obsidian folks doing it too.

as much as i love org-mode, and respect #Obsidian and similar things, I just can't get behind a system where. I'm forced to leave the browser to create a bookmark.

I use Wallabag as a read-it-later service. It works well, but Wallabag is unable to save URLs from certain websites -- often due to Cloudflare. In this article, I demonstrate how to take advantage of the fact that Wallabag can save Internet Archive URLs to save an article from Tablet Magazine, which is usually impossible due to the Cloudflare issue.

I recommend #bookmarking posts you want to get back to later. I use it for music I want to check out, an article or links I want to visit later, etc. Very handy.

Note to self. To save something to read later one doesn't actually need to reblog to keep it in one's timeline. There is a handy bookmarking feature under every post.
Bookmarks can be accessed from the right of the web client.
