Innovation is a word that gets overused: but the duo of Dylan Brady and Laura Les that comprise the band have been creating some of the innovate and interesting music these past few years.

Their twin self-produced albums of "100 Gecs" and "Tree of Clues" (both 2020) are full of bangers, heart-felt pop and collaborations with an huge array of artists.

Falling under the umbrella of hyper-pop, 100 Gecs have been pushing the sonic boundaries with mixing elements of pop punk, nightcore, ska, dubstep, deconstructed club, trance, metal, and hardcore.

They are also notable producers and solo artists - two musicians well worth watching.

They'll be in #melbourne early next year and I've already got my tix to see 'em live.

UK punk band IDLES has just dropped a new single: it's a cracker!

1049 GOTHO is the track.

I love the band's ability to combine mosh-pit friendly music, raw brutality and intelligent song writing and lyricism.

The themes of isolation, societal collapse and life in post-BREXIT England are explored by the band.

Melbourne progressive metal band NE OBLIVISCARIS has to be one of my favourite acts. Like top five - their albums are among my very favourite.

They craft soaring and epic pieces of melodic/progressive metal.

They've just released a new single for their much anticipated new album "EXUL".

The interplay between the clean and harsh vocal stylings are amazing.

The incorporation of string instruments and classic metal tropes of chunky riffs and double kick drums create some beautiful and brutal moments.

This is the kind of music that is best enjoyed in a single sitting: find a place to relax, put on your headphones and immerse yourself in the sonic landscape this Aussie metal band creates.

I've been waiting YEARS for this, and from what I can see this won't disappoint.

The Latin in their name translates to "The moment before I forgot".
