Many publishers release their festive books in September and October so you'll see quite a few popping up in your social media feeds over the next few weeks, even though we seem to be hanging on to a bit of summer for now.

I was really delighted when an early copy of Michael J Malone's forthcoming novel, The Murmurs, dropped through my letterbox this week. Thank you Orenda Books for that. I've read a few of Michael's books and, as the newspaper quotation says on the front cover, he really is brilliant at writing twisty stories often with a hint of the supernatural.

I think I'm going to take a small break from my project read session, and read book 3 and 4 of the Wicked series. I bloody loved Wicked in highschool. Used to have it on my lap in class under my desk, text book above on top of desk, and would read it and the teachers never caught on. I can't remember why I didn't finish the series. Given I own the physical copies of book 3 and 4.
