A love story set in London, spanning the wartime years of 1942-1945 forms the crux of Millie Bobby Brown's debut novel.

The Cruel Dark by Bea Northwick is a spicy gothic romance with a generous helping of brooding atmosphere and horror sprinkled in, and it was FANTASTIC.
Out on Halloween! 🖤🥀

Today's review! Luck of the Draw by Addison Albright:
"This well-written story is lovely: there are some worrying moments, but then there's is a happy ever after... I recommend the book - it blends MM romance with a well-realised fantasy world. "

Really enjoyed "In the Serpent's Wake" by @_rachelhartman, the sequel to "Tess of the Road". The universe of these books is as creative as ever, with its languages and draconic fauna. It's a hard book to read because it deals with some heavy subjects, but like in Tess, Hartman deals with these subjects with nuance, depth, and compassion. #Book #Bookstodon #BookReview
The Girl Who Fled the Picture by Jane Anderson | #bookreview #historicalfiction | @JaneSAnderson15 @lovebookstours @KellyALacey
I'm delighted to be helping kick off the book tour for The Girl Who Fled the Picture by Jane Anderson. As I mentioned in the cover reveal post, I've been hearing about this book for some time since I know the author. It's so lovely that the book is finally in the hands of readers. It's always slightly concerning when you review a book by…

Read: "Hyperion" (Dan Simmons). Okay, so, I cheated: I read the Endymion duet *before* this one, because they're what showed up at the thrift store. And I ended up really liking those. Going back now to Hyperion, I know how the author ended up weaving these plot threads together and ... I'm kinda impressed.

Isaac Asimov 'Foundation' /
To be continued..
Indie author review: Peter E. Fenton's Mann Hunt:
"Well written, easy to follow and flows well. It's also suspenseful and dangerous, with fast-paced action, snarky humor, a ton of emotions, a bit of steam and a bit in the romance department too... I love a good mystery, so I’m all in."

‘Nehru and the Spirit Of India’: A timely study of a vision for a secular and tolerant India
The book is centrally focussed on Jawaharlal Nehru’s imagination of India as an inclusive political community.

Quick #BookReview of Gregory Ashe's _Pretty Pretty Boys_: I'm not a huge fan of cop stories as a broad category because… yeah. That being said, this was a story with well-written characters it's easy to get frustrated with—because you want to like them, in spite of their bad decisions.
Maybe a little predictable, some interesting future plot hooks are in there, and overall a fun read.
This book, the first of its series, is free on Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/1402259

Just finished: "Death in Brittany" by Jean-Luc Bannalec. 3/5 🌟 🌟 🌟 The best thing about this was the food descriptions. Other than that it was pretty boring. And a lot of awkward wordy phone conversations. #mystery #BookReview

No Life For a Lady by Hannah Dolby | #bookreview | @LadyDolby @AriaFiction
I bought myself a copy of this book earlier this year and discovered afterwards that the author has a connection to Edinburgh and Portobello - small world! This book is also based in a seaside town but quite some distance from Portobello. About the book Violet Hamilton is a woman who knows her own mind. Which, in Victorian Hastings, can make things a little complicated...
