I don't normally write about politics or talk about it, it's not my area of interest, I'm neutral and I will probably be criticized for it.

Anyone saying “Only those other people do this!’ is conveniently leaving out examples of their own ideology.

History contains plenty of examples of extremes from both sides of the political spectrum book-banning, as well as engaging in other forms of censorship.

Nazis/fascists did it. Communists did it.

Islamic extremists do it today, North Koreans do it today.

Censorship is neither inherently conservative nor inherently liberal. It is inherently authoritarian. And authoritarians have historically existed at the extremes of both ends.
