I haven't finished most of the books I started in April, but it's time for another month of the #TranslatedLitChallenge! Not only that, but on my new e-reader!
The theme for May is fantasy and I'm honestly not sure if that's what this is, but it was on a list I found, so I just went with it.

Yesterday was spent exploring one of the largest bookstores in Taipei (as far as I know). I also went to Taipei 101, but well, books seem more important.
I started a tradition last year of buying books from the countries I travel to (that are from or related to the country somehow) and this is my #BookHaul for this particular trip.
I also bought two Korean books not pictured though. Oops.

Friends, please welcome FILOSOFÍA EN EL JARDÍN, the Spanish translation of my PHILOSOPHY IN THE GARDEN.
It’s been ten years since it was first published in English, and it’s so gladdening see new editions still appearing in the world.
Thanks to my agents at Zeitgeist Agency for their continued support of my work, and to translator Julio Hermoso Oliveras.

Empty Wardrobes –
by Maria Judite de Carvalho Author, Margaret Jull Costa Translator, Kate Zambreno Introduction
Maria Judite de Carvalho’s cutting 1966 novel, translated from Portuguese: A tale of women who are trapped within the quiet devastation of a patriarchal society and preyed upon by the ambient savageries that perch in its every crevice.

I read The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly and now I need to hug my mum. My review of this short, painful, but ever-so-beautiful Korean novel. #books #amreading #bookreviews #booksintranslation
