Why doesn’t use operators when it supports boolean arguments?

Say that I want to search for the word CRUISE without SHIP or CRUISES. I can add a boolean NOT operator like: cruise -ship -cruises

But ddg seems to take that as a suggestion to return fewer hits for cruises and cruise ships. It doesn’t perceive it as a command to NOT return them

So you seem to get a thousand hits for them instead of ten thousand

(Search terms and numbers were made up to illustrate the point)

I'm super excited to start playing with three new functions that have recently been added to the Open3D library:
- TriangleMesh::BooleanIntersect
- TriangleMesh::BooleanUnion
- TriangleMesh::BooleanSubtract

The version packaged with Ubuntu does not include these functions yet, so last weekend I just successfully compiled from source and linked with my C++ project.

I'm working on some ideas for procedural generation of 3D printing models and these functions with really help me out, I think.

Anyone know a lob that can process and simplify boolean conditions for my visual scripting tool?
A designers plugs a set of (nested) terms and the lob asks me for the value of terms it absolutely needs, and then gives me the result.

Of course I could just lex it, but I really want something that thinks about performance and stripping impossible paths like the bigshot compilers or IDE assistance tools would.

I wrote this piece a while back partially to explain why I have so many damn blogs. But also just as kind of a thought experiment, possible test for the capabilities of . @amills I know this isn't at all close to what you're working on, but I'd still be interested in your thoughts.

TLDR is it possible to get a GPT model to classify the types of text that can be evaluated as statements, vs those that cannot be evaluated in this way?

Many computer scientists believe that the problem L versus NP is easier to solve than P versus NP. However, we prove that L = NL if and only if L = NP. In this way, we conclude that a proof for a separation of the complexity classes L and NP is so hard to find as proving that L is not equal to NL.

It would be great if we could search for multiple together with combinations, such as: " + ", " AND ", " AND NOT "

As its stands people often use multiple hashtags and its not easy to search for the combinations.

Looking at the github it seems someone commented this about a month ago - it seems the functionality is there already in lists, just not available in the search function.

Capitalised because we forget it refers to a person and its pretty amazing that his little bit of obscure mathematics has become the foundation of a major branch of electronic engineering and revolutionised society 150 years later (give or take a few decades).

supports but not tag searching. I hope boolean searches and follows are on the to-do list.

For example, I do a lot of work with copyright in science. But copyright and science are both huge fields and I care mostly about the intersection. A search for [ AND ] would be usefully narrow. I'd love to be able to run that search. Even more, I'd love to be able to follow it.

Others must feel the same about [ AND ] and so on.
